Tasty way to help fight MS Posted on 04 Sep 16:41 , 0 comments

Now who doesn’t love a dash of that fantastic, fragrant spice cinnamon from time to time?  Whether it’s in cinnamon rolls, apple pie or that good old English Easter favourite, hot cross buns!  Hard to believe that something that tastes that great can also be good for you.

And yet it is.  Even way back, ancient Egyptians used cinnamon not just as a spice but also as a medicine.  In more modern times, research has shown that cinnamon has a wide range of health benefits. It’s full of antioxidants, it’s a natural antibiotic and has strong antiviral, antibacterial and  properties. Research indicates that cinnamon can help reduce blood glucose levels, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides in people suffering from Type 2 Diabetes, reduce chronic fatigue and even increases your brain activity and prevent Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Chicago has recently released some research into the effect of cinnamon on Multiple Sclerosis. This Study indicated that cinnamon could not only help to suppress MS symptoms, but also may help prevent the onset of MS in the first place

But what is far more interesting for all of us is that University Medical Center  (Chicago) has recently released a study into the effect of cinnamon on Multiple Sclerosis. This Study indicated that cinnamon could not only help to suppress MS symptoms, but also may help prevent the onset of MS in the first place. Frequency of consumption has been shown to be more beneficial than quantity of consumption.
